The Society for Creative Anachronism
The Shire of Anglespur
Welcome, traveler, to the Current Middle Ages!
Located in Troy NY the Shire of Anglespur is a chapter of the Society for Creative
Anachronism (SCA) that encompasses Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
(RPI) and the surrounding county of Rensselaer.
The SCA is a non-profit, educational organization that studies and
attempts to re-create pre-1600 AD Western Civilization. The events are
participatory and members selectively recreate medieval culture,
choosing the elements that interest them. Our shire is full of kind
gentles who study everything from fighting, armouring, costuming,
heraldry, calligraphy, brewing and music just to name a few. Our group
is always eager for new members to teach, to learn from and to feast
with.
If you would like to become involved please email or call the Seneschal
(listed on the contacts page) or come to dance or fight practice at RPI.

Lady Elisabeth is organizing
A&S workshops for Roses. There is limited space because there is so
much going on this year, but if anyone locally would like to lead a
workshop there are times in the barn available which she will schedule
on a first contact, first serve basis.
