Spring Equinox (SCA Time)
Or, The Event Formerly Known as Winterstorm
Saturday, May 3, 2003

As the trend has become to hold this event in the spring, it seemed fitting to change the name, and we don't want to invite snow in April with a name like Winterstorm anyway. (Especially this year...) As is traditional for this event, the usual games will be played, i.e. the boffer tournament, the blindfolded pillow fight, and"Pin the pickled herring on?" whatever character we decide to draw.
Also, there will be a First Piece of Garb Fashion Show. Bring your very first piece of garb to show off to the masses! Entries may be worn or carried to the floor. Prizes will be awarded, in categories still under consideration. Possibilities include Best Use of Bad Fabric, Worst First Garb and several others.
We will have space available for classes, as well as some space for merchants. Instructors interested in teaching classes should contact the autocrat. Merchants wishing to guarantee space MUST contact the autocrat by April 10th.
Those who prefer to fight may do so outside (assuming the snow has deigned to reveal the ground).
Feast and sideboard shall be prepared by Katy the Obscure and the fabulous kitchen staff. Those with dietary issues, including herbivores and those with allergies, should contact the Head Cook (Katy) by March 29, 2002. Katy will set dessert on fire, as is traditional (and ironic considering the site is a firehouse).

Directions:
From the East: Take your best route to I-90 West. Take I-90 into New York State. Get off I-90 at exit 12-B in the right-hand lane. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Route 9. Take the first right onto Duck Pond Road until you get to the train tracks. Do not cross the train tracks, continue following the road, it becomes Bame Road, follow it to the South Schodack Fire Company building on the left.
From the West: Take your best route to toll free I-90 East. Get off at exit 12 (last exit before I-90 becomes a toll road again). At the end of the ramp turn right onto Route 9. Take the first right onto Duck Pond Road until you get to the train tracks. Do not cross the train tracks, continue following the road, it becomes Bame Road, follow it to the South Schodack Fire Company building on the left.
Do not park in front of, or behind the lair of the mighty fire-lizards, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup!
